Imperial Treasure: the Chinese jewel in the Golden Triangle

As Paris slowly lights up under the streetlights of the 8ᵉ arrondissement, we push open the glass doors of Imperial Treasure, nestled in the 44 Rue de Bassano. The discreet but elegant sign opens onto a hushed, almost secret lounge.
No unnecessary folklore here. Refinement is in every detail: the dark woodwork, the delicate lighting, the lacquered walls that evoke an old-fashioned Shanghai. The journey can begin.

A cuisine that dazzles from the first bite

The Imperial Treasure menu is an invitation to a change of scenery, and we soon decide to let ourselves be carried away by the house classics. The first thrill came when the dim sum arrived: they were still steaming, nestling in their bamboo baskets. The prawn ha kao are translucent and of a rare finesse. Their texture melts in your mouth, while the siu mai explode with flavour, perfectly balanced between the softness of the pork and the freshness of the prawns. Next comes Peking-style Peking duck, served according to the rules of the art: the crispy skin, cut off at the table, is placed on warm pancakes, topped with cucumber, spring onions and hoisin sauce. Each bite is a little bomb of textures and flavours. Special mention for the scallops sautéed with crispy garlic: impeccably cooked, with a hint of umami that makes us nod silently.

A generous menu and daring cocktails

We leaf through the extensive wine list, but quickly turn our attention to the cocktail list. The Cucumber & Yuzu Martini, made with gin, sake and elderflower is simply delicious. Fresh and herbaceous, it's the perfect accompaniment to dim sum. The Mandarin Mojito is sweeter, with its combination of mandarin orange, mint and lime, and goes perfectly with seafood. Budget-wise, expect to pay around €25 to €40 for a starter and €40 to €60 for a main course. For the full experience, you can choose between a 6- and 8-course menu (86 and 175 euros respectively), where you can sample our signature dishes.

A hushed, timeless atmosphere

Imperial Treasure is also a visual and aural experience. The murmur of hushed conversations, the delicate tinkling of china, the soft banquettes, the discreet service: everything is designed to make you forget the hustle and bustle of Paris. Here, you feel like you're somewhere else: the perfect break from the hustle and bustle to concentrate on what really matters: what's on your plate!
