Jakarta Bali: the Indonesian getaway Paris has been dreaming of

Just a stone's throw from the Louvre and Les Halles, Djakarta Bali doesn't just serve you a meal: it takes you on a one-way trip to the Indonesian archipelago.
Since 1984, this charming restaurant has been delighting Parisians with its authentic dishes, exotic décor and evening events where Balinese dances and spices are just as enchanting.

Flavours of Indonesia: a single ticket to Bali

As soon as you arrive, the scent of spices, coconut milk and fresh herbs transports you away from the dullness of Paris. À la carte? The great classics of Indonesian cuisineall sublimated by a flawless performance. Special mention should be made of the rendang beef, voted best dish in the world by CNN Travel: meat simmered for hours, tender to perfection, spiced up with spices and sweetened with coconut milk... All served with fragrant jasmine rice. Another star of the menu is the special nasi goreng, homemade stir-fried rice with saté ayam (grilled chicken) skewers, a peanut sauce to die for and that spicy kick that awakens the taste buds. Fans of refined street food will love the mie ayam, sweet and savoury noodles with caramelised chicken, mushrooms and pak choï. And for vegetarians? The gado gado (salad with peanut sauce) is a must. To finish on a sweet note, we all agree on the dadar gulung, an airy pandan pancake topped with coconut and palm sugar caramel - a real sweet gem.

Menus to suit all appetites (and budgets)

At Djakarta Bali, getting away from it all is affordable: expect to pay around from €18 and €22 for a signature dish such as rendang or nasi goreng.

THE Tickets cost around €7-10The perfect way to start your journey.
Want to try as many flavours as possible?
You can choose between tasting menu at €55 and Sunday brunch at €35, Both formulas combine the great classics with more cutting-edge discoveries.

Drinks include Indonesian Bintang beers, tropical cocktails and Jamu, the local wellness potion (recently voted a UNESCO World Heritage Site!).

A decor that takes you on a journey (even before you take your first bite)

Sculpted wood, Buddha statues, Zen patio... Here, you forget Paris as soon as you walk through the door. The 'back from Bali' atmosphere envelops the room in an exotic softness, with subdued lighting and objects found in the archipelago. It's the perfect setting for a romantic dinner, a family meal or an evening with friends. And if you come on a first Friday of the month, the journey continues with a show of spellbinding Indonesian dances: a truly suspended moment.
