Ippudo: Japanese ramen that makes you slurp

Hide your stock cubes, we're going into Ramen King mode.
In the lively Bastille district, Ippudo has set up shop with its well-oiled suitcases straight from Fukuoka, and it's a real Japanese treat for the taste buds.

With its stylish decor, comforting cuisine and friendly atmosphere, this is a Japanese canteen that makes you want to slurp without moderation.

Welcome to Ippudo, where every spoon brings you closer to Japan.

Ramen that warms the soul (and more)

At Ippudo Bastille, tradition is no laughing matter.

The broth? A long simmer. The noodles ? Fresh and made home.
The toppings? Cleverly thought out.

We start with the stars of the menu: the Shiromaru Classic, ramen signature at tonkotsu (ultra-tasty pork broth), chashu fondant, kikurage and nitamago egg. For those who like it hot, there's Karaka, a spicy version with chilli oil and spicy miso - enough to make foodies sweat.

THE Tori Shoyu, with a light, fragrant poultry broth, will appeal to wiser palates, while those who are undecided can try the 'set' menus, which combine ramen with a side dish (gyozas or donburi).

All served hot, fast and with a smile. Special mention must go to the fried octopus and the mini cucumbers with sesame-garlic sauce, perfect for whetting your appetite.

Parisian prices, but justified

Prices range from 16 and €20 for ramen alone.
THE ramen menu + gyoza or bun + dessert ranges from 21,50 à 26,50 €depending on the combination.

It's not the cheapest street food in the area, but the quality is there, down to the last drop of broth.
THE gyozas with chicken (7 € the 6) are delicious, although they could be a little bigger.
There's a wide choice of drinks: yuzusake at €8premium sake (€7 to €10 per glass)Kirin beer and Jugetsudo genmaicha tea to keep you zen.

And for those with a sweet tooth? The matcha daifuku (€4) is a little green bomb not to be missed.

A spot that makes you want to "zuzutter" over and over again

The atmosphere at Ippudo Bastille is Tokyo chic: light wood, subdued lighting, minimalist crockery and ultra-efficient service.

All this in a long room that quickly feels like home.
There's the occasional "zuzutto" (the official sound of ramen being slurped), but that's the game! They talk loudly, they laugh, and above all, they eat well.

Even though the restaurant does not take bookings, the service is fast and well-oiled.
Ideal for a lunch with colleagues or a quick dinner before a night out in the neighbourhood.

Bonus: the restaurant is open every day for lunch and dinner, with a terrace for sunny days.

Why do we love it?

  • Ultra-tasty, authentic ramen
  • Fast, friendly and efficient service
  • A lively atmosphere and meticulous decor
  • Open 7 days a week, even on Sundays (hallelujah)
