Baos like jewels
The star here is the bao, the traditional Chinese steamed bun, which has been given a French twist. Each bite is a perfect balance of textures, between soft, melting and crunchy. To vary the pleasures, we change the toppings, each one revealing its very own personality:- The bao Stilton-pac choy, has become a firm favourite with regulars, with its blend of blue cheese and crunchy vegetables.
- Bao with cabbage confit and pork belly, à la fois généreux et plein de caractère.
- Without forgetting Peking duck bao, a nod to Hong Kong street food, but in haute couture style.
A short but well thought-out offer
A Zen atmosphere, Parisian style
The shop is very small, almost hidden from prying eyes. Inside, seating is scarce and we prefer to sit at the counter. The light is soft and the atmosphere rather calm, which is a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of Paris.
Boutique Yam'Tcha is minimalist but well thought-out: just what we've come to expect from this type of Asian address in Paris.
We're halfway between an Asian tea house and a Parisian bistro. The perfect mix for a timeless gourmet break.
Why are we going back?
