This Tokyo inspired maki-bar brilliantly blends tradition and modernity, in a setting as carefully thought out as its cuisine.

A stone's throw from the district's art galleries and bookshops, this is a one-way ticket to Japan... but with a decidedly Parisian twist.

Signature makis that pack a punch

 

At Blueberry, there's no question of stopping at standard sushi: here, makis are works of art.

The Red Rackham (marinated tuna, truffle, prawn tempura) is an absolute classic, as is the Pink Yakuza with flamed salmon.

Are you more of a noble fish fan? Try our toro tuna creations or the chef's maki, which changes with the seasons and new arrivals.

But the menu doesn't stop there: sashimi as fine as rice paper, chirashis topped with a citrus vinaigrette, izakayas to share (or not!) and the Carte Blanche Omakase option for those who like to be surprised.

On the sweet side, it's impossible to pass up the black sesame tiramisu or the homemade mochi, which are as beautiful as they are delicious.

Prices to match the flavours

Count ine 17 and € 36 for signature makis, 26 to €31 for chirashi or a selection of sashimiand around 35 € for a bento lunch well-stocked.

In the evening, the discovery menu is a great way to try a little of everything without thinking.
Desserts range from €5 to €14, depending on whether you prefer a simple mochi or a more sophisticated dessert.

The cocktails are also worth a diversion: the Cat Eyes (gin, sake, shiso, lime) or the Blueberry Plum (Roku gin, umeshu, ginger) will transport you straight to the land of the rising sun... with a Parisian twist.

A spot where the atmosphere makes the show

It's simple: Blueberry is like the Miyazaki of maki bars.

A room under a shower of multicoloured lanterns, a counter facing the chef where you can watch the ballet of knives and hands, and another, rougher room with sheet metal walls and a modern izakaya atmosphere.

The whole thing is punctuated by a polished playlist, from Nancy Sinatra to groovy sounds, which perfectly matches the spirit of the place: chic without being stuffy, cool but authentic.
