Num 1: Mian Fan: the freshest dim sum ever!

Welcome to Mian Fanthe up-and-coming - if not dominant - reference for dim sum in Paris.
We're not just talking about one restaurant here, but a mini-galaxy of flavours with three addresses, all run by an exceptional dim sum chef: Mimi Wong, straight from Hong Kong.
It's the craftsmanship and precision that make each bite unique.
Each restaurant has its own identity but shares the same DNA: an atypical decor, somewhere between a modern urban canteen and a retro Shanghainese atmosphere, open-plan kitchen, relaxed service and guaranteed ultra-fresh quality.
The other great thing about these unique dim sums is that each bite is homemade, folded by hand before your astonished eyes. When it comes to the variety of recipes, too, it's a festival of delights.
🥟 CHICKEN DIM SUM - prawn & chicken, simple but tasty.
🥟 DIM SUM LACKÉ - glazed pork, shiitake, carrot.
🥟 BEEF DIM SUM - minced beef, prawn, coriander, Sichuan chilli.
🥟 HEALTHY SUN SUM - with 4 vegetables, perfect for veggies.
🥟 LIKE IN TOKYO - Japanese pork gyoza, crispy and juicy.
🥟 The BAO Madame Li, a brioche filled with glazed pork, a tribute to the mother of chef Etienne Li. A best-seller that is a hit in all three restaurants.
Behind its apparent simplicity, each recipe reveals a distinct taste identity. That's Mian Fan's strength: recognisable, well-balanced bites that always hit the spot.
Bonus: street-food fusion recipes to keep the momentum going, subtle desserts with matcha or yuzu, and above all excellent value for money for such a cutting-edge cuisine.

4. 21G Dumplings: 18 folds, 21 grams and a single ticket to Shanghai
No golden dragons, plastic tablecloths or long menus.
Chez 21G Dumplings, on va droit à l’essentiel : le xiao long baoThis is a little ravioli from Shanghai that contains a hot broth and a very tasty filling. Here, each bite weighs exactly 21 grams - that's the promise, that's the name of the restaurant, and that's their obsession.
In this minimalist Faubourg Saint-AntoineThe show takes place in an open kitchen.
We watch the precise, almost hypnotic movements of the chefs as they fold the ravioli by hand - 18 folds, not one more, as tradition dictates.
Suffice to say that the bar is high.
The menu is monomaniacal, and all the better for it. The xiao long bao comes in three variations that are as daring as they are addictive: pork/ginger/black garlic (a classic that really hits the spot), free-range chicken, duck foie gras, hot stock for lovers of fusion cuisine, and a fresh version with tiger prawns, lemon grass and coconut water.
Each bite is an explosion on the palate, to be savoured hot, very hot - watch your taste buds.
21G Dumpling is THE spot for Chinese ravioli purists, lovers of precise gestures, but who want unbeatable value for money.

5. Yoom: dim sum that reconciles sceptics and bluffs purists
We round off our top 5 best dim sum restaurants in Paris with a modern address that has everyone on the same wavelength.
There's no denying it, ravioli can be like Russian roulette: dry, tasteless, suspicious...
But Yoom has put the steam back in the right place. At its two Parisian addresses (Odéon and Martyrs), this restaurant with a modernised Hong Kong flavour will give you a real taste for these little marvels.
At the helm are two globetrotting friends, Mikaël Petrossian and Benoît Guilbeau, who were frustrated not to be able to find in Paris the ultra-precise flavours of their Chinese trips. So they've created the dim sum canteen of their dreams: minimalist chic decor, cool service, gorgeous crockery, and above all... mouth-watering bites.
Their signature menu "Un midi à toutes vos vapeurs" at €14.90 is a real treat:
- 6 steamed dim sum in a variety of flavours (chicken/peanuts, coconut curry vegetables, beef/ginger, har gau...)
- a salad with baby greens and a curry-sesame sauce
- and your choice of: stir-fried rice with black mushrooms or a tofu-shiitake soup full of character.
What we like here is the identified, well-spiced, well-textured stuffing. No more OBNI (Objets Bouillis Non Identifiés - Unidentified Boiled Objects), each bite is a real miniature recipe. You don't always know what you're eating, but it explodes in your mouth, and that's the thrill.
